New Walleye Regs for 2009

Recommended Posts

Just in case some of you didn't know, 3 lakes in Nebraska have changes in the walleye regulations.

Harlan Co. & Calamus Reservoirs

Walleye, Sauger and Saugeye – Harlan

Co. and Calamus (Garfield and Loup

Cos.) reservoirs will be managed using

the same regulations Merritt Reservoir.

This regulation allows the harvest of no

more than one fish 15 to 18 inches and

three over 18 inches or four over 18

inches of which no more than one can

be 22 inches or greater in length.

Sherman Reservoir:

has a daily bag limit that allows two

walleyes greater than 15 inches but

less than 20 inches and one walleye

greater than 28 inches. There is a slot

limit protecting walleyes 20 through 28

inches. The goal is to protect large

walleyes that will be available for use

as brood stock for statewide walleye

stocking needs.

Should make tourneys a little more intersting!

So what you're saying Greg, is I need to just catch two walleyes over 30" per day (between me and my partner) and I should do well at the NWT?

grin

Thanks for clearing that up for me, in all seriousness. I was confused when I talked to you on the phone the other night.

Hey, I have been working round the clock as I am in trial all week. I will call you on Friday.
