Hibbing
Boiler sprung a leak last night. Leaking CO into the house. Someone told me the heat exchanger is cracked. I was planning on a new system this summer, so I will try to use space heaters and fire places until then.Any recs. on what brand boiler to go with? I have not heard many good reports on Weil-McLain and someone said Smith was a good product. Any advice would be great!Jeff
natebuddy
I got a triangle tube 110,000 BTU and we love it. Runs our radiant heat in garage, basement, mainfloor, and also handles our potable water. It also heats a coil in our air handler for forced air heat.
Lindy Lee
If you look into some of the high eff ones they will qualify for the new federal tax credit which is a tax credit of 30% of the install cost not to exceed $1500.00. Here is the link.http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=products.pr_tax_credits#c3
billyboyd
It really depends on what you want to do with the boiler, where you live and who supplies your power, as there might be other options than gas.
Archerysniper
My heat exchange whent out on my forced air furnace when it was 20+ below this year I ordered a new one for $185 and 2 hours of work and good as new if it's not that old I would do this since it's cheaper.
