MerganserBreath
Just ran a patrol today around the Marenisco/Lake Gogebic area in the Western UP of MICH. Trails are in great condition for the most part. I'd rate them good to very good overall with some fair and some excellent. I few more sleds out than I've seen in previous patrols this year, but nothing like it has been in the past. Saw 224 sleds in 5 hours / 110 miles. Looks like more lake effect tonight and tomorrow, so next weekend and into March should be pretty good, so get it while it last... April will be here before we know it. Be Safe out there! MNexpoler
What is the trail base? How much snow is in the woods?
MerganserBreath
Probably 8 to 10 inch base Marenisco and north, less to the south towards the Stateline. 2 to 3 feet in the woods I'd guess. I stepped of the trail once and sank halfway up my thigh.
