Superduty
Awesome fish! I am surprised she came out of water that shallow. Definitely not your textbook wintering hole. Makes me wonder if we truly know as much as we think about smallmouth wintering behavior. Good color on that fish too. Most of the smallies I caught just prior to freeze up were very pale and looked like what you would expect from an inactive wintering fish. Yours looks like it's ready to rumble! RawHog
I had 48 degrees on pool 2 yesterday. water is so dirty and current is so fast there is just about nothing going on at all. Seen the commercial fisherman take about 5000 pounds worth of drum while I was out though, that was pretty cool.
bassfshin24
I had 46° up by the Ford Dam on Friday. Water is pretty dirty and water is moving a lot faster then last week.

Lunker
Caught about 30 of these fellas and 1 SM today in a span of about 90 minutes. Fish were stacked up on 1 stretch of shoreline about 100 feet long. Fun fast action.
fishinfey8
Was very fortunate to catch a smallmouth of a lifetime yesterday evening. Fish was caught in SD btw... The fish measured 20", unfortunately I did not have a scale. Let her go for another to catch. Might get a replica, haven't decided yet. Jim Uran
I was fishing some early shallow water slabs in 2-3 fow, the ice just went off the lake a couple of days ago, and ended up hooking up with this big pig. Light line and a Northland Gypsy Jig!
