Eskimo Stingray...enough power?

I am pretty set on getting an eskimo auger. Simply because of the price and I have had good luck with them in the past. I am looking at the Stingray, which is only 33cc and 1.2HP, and the Mako 43cc 1.8HP. Has anyone had any experience with the stingray that can say if the 1.2HP is enough?

I bought an 8" Stingray for my Dad a couple of years ago & he loves it. It is not a speed demon, but it starts & runs great. I had him remove the auger and run a better part of a tank of gas through it at idle to break it in.

I have had my stingray for three years. I have done nothing but put new blades on this year. Just set it on the ice and let it do the work. I like that it is light and affordable. If your in hole drilling contest you might not win, but with the new blades on it's darn good!
