Any Safe ice In Southern Wisconsin?

tvman: Welcome with a capital W.

I live along Lake Superior in northern Wisconsin. There's no safe ice in lakes right along the lake. I've gotten scattered reports of ice 2 inches or a bit thicker on a few small northern lakes inland from the big lake, and a couple reports of ice 3 to 4 inches in the Minnesota arrowhead, but most of us are waiting on colder weather, which is coming tonight. Likely, there'll be guys out on foot in some force up here on Saturday and Sunday, but we'll be cautious, and will bring spud bars and ice spikes!

Bottom line: There's very little safe ice way up here in the north, but it's only a day or two away. I'd be WAY suspicious and careful of ice in southern Wis.

Anybody else further south have a report?

I'm at school in Stevens Point, and there's maybe a half inch from what I heard from one of my friends today. Still a little ways off, which is a good thing since I gotta go hunting first.
