Brade04 Posted November 28, 2008 Share Posted November 28, 2008 I need some walleye help. I went out today and caught one little eye at about 5 oclock. I caught it on an orange chubby darter fishing about a foot off the bottom. What do I need to do diff.? Any other spoon suggestions? I'm going to be uptown in the morning. Posted November 28, 2008 Share Posted November 28, 2008 It may sound like a beaten horse but during that prime time hour, have a bunch of holes predrilled in the area you think is holding the fish and as that prime hour rolls around, I'd suggest a rattling verticle lure like a Buckshot/similar. Spend a couple mins at the most at each hole if you don't get anything.Doing this can be a very good indicator whether the fist are there or not. Thunderman Posted November 28, 2008 Share Posted November 28, 2008 Try useing a 1/8oz gold kastmaster with a live minnow hooked through the mouth.You can also try a jigging rap close to the same color of the forage in the body of water you are fishing.Here in NY gizzard shad, perch are the main forage alot of times people think that they always have to fish the bottom for Walleyes.Don't be afraid to fish suspended(aggresive) alot of times thats where I catch most of my walleyes I hope this helps.
