I am just wondering if it is worth the trip up to osakis to try for some divers this weekend. Is it froze over and are there any ducks up there

I thank you all for you help.

I was NW of there, but not by far. Not many diving ducks left around where I was, and this is usually diver mecca area. Some cans and buffies I saw, but I didn't all that many goldeneye yet, and I was surprised. Maybe the golden eye are still there or not quite down yet, as I usually see (hear) lots during second deer weekend.

I will say this, it sure looked like most of the lakes, incuding big lakes, were closing in fast. That was Sunday. Good luck whatever you end up doing, hope you find them!

Weekend before last we had some shooting on Minnewaska at Glenwood. This past weekend it was nothing. Saw a few hard core hunters out a few days ago but never heard a shot out of them. We have open water shore to shore but no birds. That may change tomorrow night as low is supposed to be single digits. Sorry to say it's over. Now if you like geese, Morris and west is hot right now, also Herman and NW. Have heard reports of ducks west of Graceville.

    • I never said that at all but my choice of "grill" or "smoker seems to bother you for some reason.   It's OK if you are a little bit jealous of my pellet smoker.....
    • How does the cold smoke accessory work? I wouldn't fathom doing any this time of year or does it have a built in ice tray to keep foods cool?. If not any grill or smoker would do the trick in the cold. I'm with others,  having room to hang for long smokes works the best. It is a nice concept though.
    • The fatty was good! Got up at 6:30 am Friday morning to put it on the pellet grill.
    • Ants are just trying to make a livin.
    • Buy an ant moat. Feeder hangs underneath it. Ants can’t cross the water. While I have never used this, I used to put my cup of grape jelly on a small plate, filled with water. Never had a problem with ants. So, in theory, the moat should work just the same.
    • I grease the pole with Mentholatum
    • Gotta love wings!! Had to see what this reverse searing is about. Pork chops off to the side grabbing natural hardwood smoke then over the heat... tasty.
    • Did a bunch of wings in the steam pot for 15 minutes yesterday. Let them cool and then brushed with oil and rub. Left uncovered overnight in the fridge. Tonight I grilled them indirectly over some charcoal and apple pellets in the smoker tube. Finished them off over the coals to get them crispy:
    • I'd just take a $20 loss and use the proper stuff your outboard is specified for.    It's just not worth it.   I feel like this falls into one of those "if you have to ask the answer is no" sort of things.
    • I have a half gallon of arctic cat APV oil, and was woundering if this can be used in my oil injected 2 stroke Yamaha 200HPDI? I bought a new sled this winter that requires C-TECH2 oil, so I have a half gallon of 45$ oil just sitting in my garage.
