LOTW ICE Series results

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to the top anglers in the LOTW ICE Series!

1st place: Peter Samuelson 7.7lbs

2nd place: Mike Grant 7.3lbs

3rd place: Hastings Gal 7.2lbs

Big Fish:
Peter Samuelson 6.1lb walleye
Mike Grant 6.1lb pout

It was a tough bite this weekend and these folks are true ice leaders for getting on fish.
Peter is a young boy and hooked and fought his 6lb walleye all by himself. His dad (Canopy Sam) put him on the fish that made him the winner along with getting him a big fish trophy.

It was a great time and thanks goes out to all those who attended.I hope you all had as much fun as I did.

Thanks to everybody at FM for putting on yet another fun ice fishing event. Thanks to Dennis for posting the results, and for the cold one at the weigh in! Thanks to Matt for posting the pic! Would it be possible for you to post the others you took in front of the FM decal on the pickup truck? Maybe you could send the others to our home e-mail site? [email protected]

I have to admit, I was beaming with pride for my son and his fish. We spent two solid days on the lake and that one fish was six times bigger than any others we caught. It's really too bad the weather took such a nasty turn. We didn't even bring portables cause the weather man said it was supposed to be 35-40 degrees! Oh well, that's Lake of the Woods!

Thanks to everyone for the compliments to Peter. He's a great kid, and will truly remember this event for many years to come.

I also want to thank everyone that put on these events, it was a good time at all three events the Hubby and I made. I fished out of my Otter Den that I won at the Red contest on Sunday nite on Red, it is great.

smile.gif Peter great job on that pretty eye! I'm sure you will never forget that trip.

These contest are the first I've entered and I did learn a big lesson, I weighed in my pout, big perch and one respectable sauger - the mistake I made was leaving the other two smaller saugers back at the fish house. I'm going to learn from that mistake. I'm glad Peter will be getting his 1st place trophy I enjoyed watching his excitement and next year I hope to be able to bring our daughter to these events so she can enjoy the fun also. Keep Smiling.

    • Odd, looks like home made brackets on the ends?  May be they had them for some kind of tarp outside?
    • Just picked up a 1978 Bethany compact 560. Got it set up but I can't figure out what these 2 adjustable poles are for.  Anyone know?
    • friend good luck to you and your wife!!!!   I do know where you are at....  my prayers to ya............
    • Anyone been out this past week? My bird hunting has been cut short this year so I am depending on others to keep me up to date. My wife has Breast Cancer and is starting radiation treatments soon, lasting a good part of October. I may be able to do some deer hunting depending how she is feeling. She has had surgery and the outlook is great and she feels great so that's the main thing. Good luck to all you hunters.
    • dont everyone post at once!!!!!!🤣😂 hummers bailed from itasca county, got a couple still around cold spring, seen them yesterday. but i havent seen any robins in a while. anyone else???????????????????????????????????
    • My routing was keep all the drive train zerks greased every few outings, change oil & filter yearly and front and rear diff by-yearly unless I did a lot of swamp running.  There are a bunch of helpful videos on the Tube.
    • I was out today putting up a deer stand and came across a lobster mushroom. I don't think I have seen any this late before. I will be enjoying the little gem tonight.
    • thanks for the write-up - and great pics!  hopefully these stories will keep me interested until i have my own west hunt.   good luck to all
    • Always enjoy the "out west" write ups!!!  I really appreciate you taking the time to share your journey!!
    • Well I wasn’t going to do any fluid changes untill next fall but it’s been a little more than a year and I just clicked 1k miles. About 30-40 hours since last oil change. I think I’m just going to do it. So last time I just took it to a dealer but it’s expensive, the machine is gone for at least a week and it’s a hassle to deal with dropping off and picking up. So I think I’m going to try it myself. I’ve changed oil on things many times before so this isn’t anything new. I’m going to get ahold of my dealer and see what I need and have them walk me through the steps. I want to change the oil, the front and rear gear case oil and I’d like to do the transmission fluid also. I also just saw Polaris has a deal now through the 1st of oct for $10 off an oil change kit. So I think I just need an oil change kit and a quart of gearcase oil? I also have a new spark plug I’ll through in and go through the machine like I always do every few months. I know @leech~~ had a magnum what did you always do for maintence?
