After our weekned all Ifish2 and I can say is WOW! I was talking to Northwest guy from the Duluth area during the drawinggs and suddenly Paul pulled my wifes name for the Marcum! I was yelling for Northlander and we were celebrating verbally and suddenly Paul called my number for Dave Hoggard's fish house! From then out the world became a total blurr.
To anyone that we did'nt saay goodbye to? we are sorry we were caught up in the moment.
Thanks Icleaders

Have a blast! You are all set for next year. Pull a couple Lotto tickets, Win and buy a truck to carry all that new gear. That was way to unbelievable! Back to back? Marcum and Otter. Wow! I thought the better half was going to cry then when you won the Otter I thought I was going to have to do CPR! Congrats again.

Yep a great time, you guys run a great show. Wish I could have made it sooner and met a few more folks. Lots of folks I wanted to meet and speak with that I did'nt run across.

Hopefully get to some other events next year in the north half of the state.

Fisky

Little King,
the URL crappie ite usually starts getting better for the next couple of weeks. Depending on when you're going, you might be able to talk me into heading up there with you.

Bruce, I want to thank you very much for showing up and competing in this event. For those of you who don't know, Bruce Mosher is the inventer of Icebuster bobbers, foamwalkers, wavebuster bobbers, rod straps and the mini teaser. He's also one heck of a nice guy.

Bruce is an IceLeaders sponsor, so he helped make the ICE Series possible.

Fisky, it was nice seeing you and as they say..better late than never ehh smile.gif

The URL crappie bite is yet to come! It'll pick up in about a week or so.

It was great seeing everyone again, this was a great tournament! I was happy to see Canopy Sam's boy take home the big fish, it's smiles like that 8 year old boys that make it worth the 5am set-up!

    • Whats everyone's thoughts on this new feature? https://www.navionics.com/usa/blog/post/ais-in-the-boating-app/
    • What you are doing is even better than what they hope to achieve with the law. I do the same thing. My minnows never see lake water while in my possession except while riding on a hook. It is not possible to transfer invasives via my minnows or minnow container unless they came from the bait shop and the result would be same either way.   This brings up a good question. Aren't minnows trapped in lakes and streams? They could contain microscopic versions of invasive species and therefore be responsible for transporting them to every lake where the minnows are used. Even those raised in rearing ponds are potential threats if the rearing ponds become infected.   Unfortunately, it is impractical (not impossible) for a CO to know that my minnows have not been in the lake. He would have to take my word for it. As a result, unless they catch me taking my aerated minnow cooler from my boat to my truck, ....
    • I see they got Eddie & Cron back last night but now Buxton's out again. It didn't help though as they played a sloppy game & beat themselves.
    • Work related travel.  Never been to the northeast before and wanted to experience it as much as possible so I drove and took a couple extra days.   Original plans had me touring some stuff in the DC area but its been a little more difficult and expensive to wander about than I’d hoped.   Get me to some water!!!
    • Most of the fish I've caught out of the abyss were caught just above the thermocline or high in the water column (1'-15' down). A friend of mine once caught a 31" hog walleye on a top raider over 100'+ of water. That's just one of the many hogs to come into my boat that were 0'-5' under the surface in mega deep water. So, keep your lures above the kill zone on slot lakes and you'll still get bit.
    • To young to be retired whats up with all this Wandering?  Didn't you just come back from Musky fishering? 🤔
    • Walked the Inner Harbor a bit, ate soft shell crab and took in an Oriole’s game at Camden Yards today.  Oh, and finally booked a SHORT trip on Erie to catch on the ride home.  Better than nothing.   White water rafting tomorrow will have to do for my most significant Maryland experience.  This put a little chill on me when I noticed what it was.     It’s a nice place to visit, but... you know the  rest.
    • Tried my hand at making Nashville hot chicken last night. It didn't turn out exactly like I expected but it was still good.
    • Great fish @Lals!   You sound like we did on the way home from our trip - analyzing every fish we didn’t hook up or keep hooked after they bit.  I didn’t get any joy from a Top Raider either but live chucking them.   Thanks for the report!
    • Just came back from LOTW.  Numbers were down but not bites.  I was a miserable 6 for 15 fish on. 75% of the bites came on the figure 8, I mostly tried to set back into them and they would come "unbuttoned " pretty quickly.  Next year, I will  try pulling them around or if they bite up in the corner of my figure 8, I would then pull the rod straight back trying to set it in the corner of their mouth.   Smaller bucktails got the most bites.  Cranks did pretty well too -- 7" Slammers and Crane Bait.  One friend got a 48 on a Top Raider. I had a 4 -5 large fish follow a top raider or a jackpot but none bit.  My brother got a 50" on a Mepps Musky Marabou.
