Scott M
Saw a documentary on Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone National Park and the overpopulation of elk. They mentioned that the state and feds don't allow hunting, yet they show all these pictures of elk that get fed baled hay in the winter. What gives? Hunting is used as the major big game management tool in this state, with funds that generate enough money for the entire division of wildlife. Seems like Colorado is missing out on a solution, or am I missing something?
Jim Bob
It's a Federal law that does not allow hunting. The state has been looking at ways to have it changed. In Estes Park huge bulls are gathering cows right now right in town. It's an unbelievable sight!
so haaad
I have relatives who live just outside of town on the way up to the park, and they have elk in their yard constantly.
