North/East Metro Lake Question

The family wants to head out this afternoon for a leisurely boat ride and maybe some tubing, but my wife won't get in the water if it's "pea soup".

I'm in the Blaine area, can anyone give me an idea of a lake that is relatively clean right now?

ole matty is on with that pick. White Bear is about the cleanest lake out there right now and for a leisurely boat ride it can't be beat in the north east metro area. There is plenty of area to tube out there as well. If you guys want to park it for a bit and get out to swim, the little bay on the south east side of the big point is a pretty nice area to get out and play. It is usually protected from the wind as well.

White bear as already stated.. other wise, Square is the cleanest.. along with Big Marine is another.

Lake Elmo is clean also. (At least it was a while ago).

WBL has a speed limit on the lake so keep that in mind. I can't remember what it is (40 MPH maybe?) but they patrol that lake pretty often.

there is a speed limit of 45MPH and the last 3 times i've been out there i've seen the patrol goin around the lake....

We tried WBL it was very FULL, I believe the speed limit out there is only 30 MPH but whatever it didn't matter. We went over to BE instead, plenty of parking left and we had a good time.
