Waterfalls/Rapids at Night?

Alright guys, hittin NW Ontario on Sunday, and our cabin happens tobe right by the headwaters of a waterfall. We think that throwing out sucker minnows under lighted bobbers at night would produce some HUGE fish, but we've never done it before.

Has anyone ever fished rapids/waterfalls at night, and if so, how did you do? Also, any ideas on how to keep the bait off the bottom and from going over the edge of the falls?

P.S. How else would you guys recommend fishing structure like that?

Casting cranks from shore at night is good technique.

You're going to be fishing above the falls? I'm not much of a river guy but I always thought the spillway and scour hole and fast current and eddies at the bottom of the falls or dam were better locations???

Report back after your trip and let us know how it went. Have a great time up there!
