Anybody been on Grindstone Lake yet? How's the ice? Trout yet? North or south end?

Grindstone is an experimental lake.....open year round!

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize it was closed. I have to read the reg's better. It is not a designated "trout" lake so do I need a trout stamp? Had one last year, but that's because I fished Superior a few times in the summer.

You don't need a stamp if you don't KEEP any trout.

No you don't have to have a trout stamp to fish Grindstone, but you do have to have a trout stamp in order to keep a trout from the lake.

Lip_ripper, Grindstone is a two story fishery. Yes you can fish the lake year around, but you can only fish for and keep trout from the lake during the summer or winter trout season.
