Confused about Angle-eye

Recommended Posts

Is the angle-eye lure distributed by other manufactures, and if so is there any difference. I have an angle-eye by jb lures out of Winthrop, Mn. Can you order them just by color?

The angel eye spoons from jb are the same spoon that you will find here and elsewhere as the angel eye junior from scenic tackle.
The original angel eye spoon is called just that, the angel eye. It is quite a bit bigger than the AE junior but just as effective, Ive taken quite a few nice fish off the original angel eye spoons...Have a great ice season!! Paul

I am assuming JB also packages the glow devil as well but calls them "varmits"???????? They look awfully similar, but haven't seen a scenic glow-devil up close yet, so I could be wrong on this.

Korn
Just for your info the Varmite and Glow devil are very similar but they are a little different. The Varmite is shaped slightly different but I am sure they will work in a similar manner.

In my opinion, the Varmit in not even close to the Glow Devil. Similar in apprearance yes, but there are some MAJOR advantages to the Glow Devil if you look closely. This is my 4th year now using Glow Devils and they outfish Varmits big time.

I really like JB lures, they have great paint on them. I just don't think the Varmit is a good comparison to the Glow Devil.

Yes, it is my understanding that JB's Angel Eye and Scenic Tackle Angel Eye Jr's are the same thing. The advantage in getting Scenic Tackle Angel Eyes is the fact that you can get a card of them at a reduced price.

Maybe Jeff will jump in on this one.

I didn't see the glow devil in Gander Mt in Minnetonka. I saw the varmit though, but didn't get it.

Ebass - that is where I was at as well and didn't see them. But seen the varmits and angel eyes from JB and had to say to myself, apples to apples, apples to oranges???

The varmits didn't come in 1/16th oz. so it led me to beleive that they were different, and also the fact that the varmits came in "regular" and "rattle". I picked up a couple of the "rattling" ones. And One of each of the 1/8th blue, red and perch. Now I will be buying a card of the 1/8th glow devils so I can compare. And then get the 1/16th just because smile.gif

Korn_fish, that is the best way. Pick some up and check out the difference. I won't post the differences but the first time you use one will will understand what I am talking about. There are signicant differences between the Varmit and the Glow Devil. Let me know how it goes.

    • Ben - The Accountant Keanu - John Wick Brad - A River Runs Through It Robert - Jeremiah Johnson Chevy - Caddy Shack Nick - Leaving Las Vegas   2nd picks cuz they’re close: Ben - Good Will Hunting or The Town Keanu - Point Break Brad - Legends of the Fall Robert - The Natural Chevy - Vacation Nick - Gone in 60 Seconds
    • Find this on Amazon and you can use Bluetooth. It has 2 different outputs. 3.5mm and RCA:   Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter for Bluetooth Streaming
    • Ben Affleck  -  Dazed and Confused Keanu Reeves - Speed Brad Pitt - Sleepers Robert Redford - The Natural Chevy Chase - Nation Lampoon Christmas   Nicolas Cage - The Rock
    • ok I got it figured out, not sure its the best solution but it works.   I thought the 3.5mm jack on the jbl speaker was an output, but its an input so completely scrapped that. I was hoping to go that route so it would charge my phone at the same time.   So instead I opted for this option instead:     It works and I have left and right stereo and its not mono. It sounds ok but I may splurge for a 3.5mm to  digital input cable and see if its worth it.
    • Armageddon Constantine Inglourious Basterds(sp) Jeremiah Johnson The vacation movies   And I don't remember the name of the movie  but Nicholas Cage played a soldier in the Crusades who had to transport an accused witch to another town. Ron Perlman was his partner   Besides fishing, going to movies is another one of my joys in life
    • I'm gonna list 5 Actors, if ya care to play, list your favorite movie that they have appeared in.   Ben Affleck  Keanu Reeves Brad Pitt Robert Redford Chevy Chase   *time out* Bonus 6th pick..... Nicolas Cage
    • I want to connect my iPhone to an old home theater receiver in my garage I am sure there is lots of ways to do this just trying to think of what would be best.   I have an iPhone with no headphone jack. Not a problem I currently put it on a dock with a speaker. That dock has a 3.5mm out that I should be able to convert into something that would work as an input to the receiver?     Here is the back of the receiver, its an old ONKYO that I had set up as a home theater many years ago. Its been collecting dust in the basement and I still have all of the speakers so I thought, hey I could really jam out in the man cave with some good speakers if I can get everything hooked up correctly   I could go 3.5mm to rca (red and white) and I think that would get me stereo and not mono?   Or could I go 3.5mm to digital optical or 3.5mm to coaxial? See all my options circled in red below?
    • For this episode of the Duffman & Wanderer bass show I present to you the third week of August.   Wed is my usual day to get out. I figure it's before the Thurs night leagues and gives some space from the weekend warriors. Wife had a work party at our house, bonus water time for me. Too bad it was on one of "those" days. Sloooow. Talked to a regular, he agreed it was slow and chimed in "Two days ago though" Argh, that's all I needed to hear after only catching 3 bass in 5 hours. One went 4lbs, a 2ish, and a sub pounder........those little fish aren't usually where I'm fishing.   Gave it another go today...........short biters for me all week. Dealing with some pea green soup water, today was already clearer than Wed. That 4 was blind in one eye, seemed to be a lateral line strike. Maybe that's why they are short?   Had some action today at least, a smaller class of fish,  2.5 - 3 lb range. A half dozen, missed a couple, had two pop off, seen one.......20" class fish. Did the usual #@&%$,!, and casted again. I think I need to sharpen some hooks.  Still cranking, although I jig n pigged today for a tad......I never jig n pig. Forcing myself to try other things.   It's always interesting observing fellow fishermen. There's pressure everywhere these days. You recognize folks that look like they know what they are doing, and others that don't have a clue. I think I seen a 12" screen on a kayak this week!. I watch what people are using on a spot, and once they move on, I have no problem moving in. Fishing seems cyclical, some years are better than other's. That's fishing, hope you are out on the days when the "HOT" bite is going down.    Tune in next week for another episode.
    • To bad your not up here in Minnesota.  There are Ice houses on lots for sale all over this state.  You could stop in with a tape and get the dimensions you need.
