jjohnson5150
I was able to buy a year or so by using liquid electric tape to seal a crack in the cords protective layer. Eventually, I had to replace the entire transducer. I don't think there is a way to splice the entire cord though. You may need to just get a new one. Jason Durham
Actually there is a way to splice the cord. It does depend somewhat upon how close the cut is in relation to the transducer. However, it's not a do it yourself project. Send the transducer to Vexilar and they can fix it.
Sandmannd
I'm with Jason, contact Vex and see what they can do. I've heard they have great customer service.

hill7410
just wondering why would you want to splice your vexilar cable?
icehousebob
I had the Vex service center splice one for me and it works fine. I had another one that the cable pulled out of the transducer and they said that one was beyond help.
jjohnson5150
How much do they charge for this service? I have an old one I'd like to get fixed. Good thing I hung onto it.
