Swimstein
A major ice fishing event will take place at Blackduck Lake near Orr this weekend. Dave Genz and crew (the organizers) are already at Melgeorge's and will be joined by Angling Adventures Television Co-host Greg Clusiau. The show, "Angling Adventures", receives nation-wide airing for those that have satellite tv and subscribe to the sports package. As reported in another thread, some of those who will be fishing in the Blackduck contest are also trying their luck at Elephant. Anyone in the area may wish to stop by the lodge to listen to the fish tales.

fisherdog19
The Duck was SLOOOOOOW. The fish weren't on thier late ice bite yet as there was plenty of snow still on the ice. They were there, but not very active and tough to get to bite. Morning bite produced the best, but it was still very slow. Most went over to Ash for the day bite on crappies that was fast and furious when you were on fish; lots of small ones but plenty in the 10-12" range with some topping out at 14". Elephant was slow as well, we ventured out one evening and caught 5 crappies with one at 11.5" being the largest so no pigs like we've heard are in there. It's a beautiful area up there and Melgeorge's did a phenomenal job hosting, and the food was GREAT. I'll definately be back to chase some pigs on Elephant!
