Just another note about the great customer service at Strikemaster in Big Lake. Last night on the first pull out on the lake I ripped the recoil rope right out of my old Mag3000 3HP 10" chipper. When I took it apart out on the lake to re-thread and re-tie, I noticed the recoil spring was toast, not loading up.
So this AM, I went to SM HQ in Big Lake. They keep old refurb parts on a shelf behind the city desk by the front shop - and they had a full rebuilt recoil for my unit sitting right there. 5 minutes later, it was back in my hands, fixed. Always ready to pay for great service, I asked how much, and, like many here, was told no charge. He said they'll rebuild my dead recoil and fix another one for no charge when it walks in.
How cool is that! And how refreshing, this customer service stuff really isn't rocket science afterall.
I went ahead and watched some of the MLF coverage. Wheeler didn’t make the cut but the bigger story was the Poche/Avera fallout.
Kinda funny listening to both sides of the story and putting together the scenario, reading between the lines.
got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....
Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.
Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.
Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
