fishinfey8
So there are tons of ways to catch a walleye: drift, troll, cast, jig, bobber fish, cast cranks, fish deep, fish shallow, weeds or rockpiles, minnows, leeches, crawlers, plastics, rivers or lakes...etc. So lets hear it! What is your favorite way to fish for walleyes???? I'll start by saying i love fishing for walleyes by casting crankbaits along weedlines and into cover. Whether you are in Minnesota, South Dakota or North Dakota this tactic always works in the springtime. During the spring i fish weeds, but as summer months i will switch to trolling reef runners a little deeper. If i get on a hot bite i will bust out the shiners/leeches and slip bobbers, especially if its a calm night!

TKO_PUNCH
Nothing better than rigging for me. It's like a game: was that a bite or the bottom, do I give them line, how much line? It is so much fun for me at least
BigGrassBass
Bouncing jigs on shallow rocks in the river. It takes a while (and a few dozen jigs) to get the hang of it every spring!
Bassman55
I like catching a bonus walleye when I am fishing the weedlines for bass. I have caught seveal big fish on big crankbaits and 1/2 spinnerbaits. I caught one on a spinnerbait over 8lbs in about 2ft of water in the end of June. buddha
Boy, running cranks are fun but I do more rigging so I would say that, but heck each way is a great time.
grousehunter
Casting lindy spinner rigs over shallow structure a boat might scare away fish on...tipped with a leach
OLY
Casting cranks at wingdams on pool 2 of the mississippi. It has to be the funnest way to catch a pig walleye, and just minutes from home!
fishcast
Casting light jigs in shallow water like a fuzze grub and minnow, or jig and a powerbait or gulp minnow.
PerchJerker
My favorite is casting cranks or pitching jigs into shallow water. Years ago I would have said rigging was my favorite, but now it's near the bottom of my list. Right now I'd be very happy if I could catch walleyes all year long and never have to tie on a live bait rig or a slip bobber
jumboperch
I would have to say casting floating rapalas at night in the spring. At night you never know what you are hauling in.

onlywalleyes
Anyone who has pitched plastics to the "trees" on Pool 4 in April for pig pre-spawn eyes will agree that there is nothing better. Better have a good hold on your rod!
