joeyquicksand*
I'm going to try and get some lakers this weekend, but don't know where to begin. I've never been lake troutn' so, can someone give me some tips on what to use, how to do it, etc.?
znistler
hey joey the lake trout in this lake are pretty finicky but can be caught. a couple weeks ago i went and we caught 2 lakers and a bunch of rainbows. the lakers were caught suspended about 40 feet down over about 70-80 feet. the rainbows were caught in about 7 feet. for lakers i used ciscos on tip ups and rainbows were caught on a small grub

Steve Foss
Joey, you might also click on this thread. It was started quite awhile ago, and there's a lot of banter back and forth, but there's also a lot of good info for a newbie laker taker. There's also a lot of talk about inland laker fishing on that board in general. Aside from having Lake Superior in the geographical area of the BWCAW-Duluth-Ely-Range board, there are a LOT of inland laker lakes that fall within that huge area, and a ton of us are obsessed by lakers. Good luck. Once you hook one, well, you'll be hooked!
