Spring Bobbers?

What sort of spring bobbers are you folks using?I tried alot of different ones and couldn't find any thing i liked,so i built one.I took an 8"piece of 20lb mono, doubled it over and glued it all together except about a 1/4" of the end that got doubled over. When it was dry i cut a 3"piece out, and slipped a tiny plastic on it.It doesn't add any wieght to the end of the rod and it allows me to see the lightest of bites.Any other ideas you have tried??Ice Slabs

This year I started using the flat spring-steel type of spring bobbers with the preformed rubber section for mounting it to your rod. They hold great and make storage a breeze, because you can remove the bobber and spin it around so it doesn't get all bent out of shape during storage.

I think Ice Buster bobbers are great. They're the only bobber I use---when using a float bobber, but a lot of times when fishing for panfish, I like to use a "pull-away-tease" technique to trigger a bite. It's just not possible to use a set bobber when fishing this way.

I mean a bobber that is set to fish a certian depth, one depth. When fishing crappies/sunnies while using my vexilar, I'm rarely fishing just one depth. So rather than continually re-adjusting the bobber stop, I like the use a spring bobber. smile.gif

We make our own spring bobbers. Go to the hobby store and buy piano (spring) wire and a package of beads. A couple of bends and tape to your rod You are good to go! Maybe two cents each.
