cweinkauf
OK maybe you guys can tell me if I should just give up. I fish a chain of lakes that is very shallow. In the summer there is a hot spot for walleye and several for Northern. This is the first year I've tried to fish it in the winter and I'm stumped. There are 3 areas that should hold fish. One 25ft hole (the only hole) and 2 springs. The ice around the springs is not dependable so I stay at a safe distance, maybe too far to be fishable. The rest is 5-12ft of water. Either I am not fishing in the right spot or these fish move to the larger deeper lakes in the chain during the winter. Will walleye and pike move 15-20 miles for deeper water? Flasher still shows baitfish.
