six of us stayed at a worn down, cold, drafty, and fishless shack, approx 1-1/2 miles out from breakers!rockie, flat bottom in about 14-19 ft of water.we had the vexlar, and aquaview.

four of us hired two well-known guides for four hours,(left out of hunters)and still did not pull out any fish!!

midnight-2a.m. on the last day,we had two eelpoor(typo i'm sure)hit our rattle reels we installed due to the ones in the shack that were broken.

any information on what/where we might of went wrong would be appreciated?

we would come back next year if things were different?

Welcome to Fishing Minnesota. Next year I would just watch the reports on the forums and you will see where the quality resorts are. One has to also remember that when a front comes through that even the guides cannot make the fish bite. They can put you on structure that is and has been good with all the right equipment but, if the fish shut down then it wont matter who guides you.

I have heard of other reports from fisherman that they had cooler than normal houses this past weekend with all the wind and cooler temps.

Sometimes things just dont work out liked planned. The weather has many times messed up a trip to the pond for myself.
