Sportland_Bait
I want to freeze some minnows for springtime jig fishing. What is the best way to freeze them? Will they loose their color and turn pale? I have seen people salt them down. Is salting the best way to do this?Jason Erlandson
52#FLATHEAD
They will lose some color. But the thawing is the most important. When I freeze chubs for my trotlines I thaw them out very slowly. If you thaw them too fast they will loose the firm muscle structure & be almost useless. I freeze them in water & thaw them over a 6 hour span in the fridge. mnhunter2
I mix borax and salt equally and salt them and then freeze em keep great color stays pretty good and they don't spoil.
