Whats your average hours spent on a outing of ice fishing?

How many hours do you spend on an outing, on a day of fishing? People think im crazy and there is something wrong with me , they say im like the only one to enjoy fishing as much as i do . Im just trying to prove a point that im not the only one. I like to spend 4 to maybe 6 hours on a day of fishing. like on the weekend saturday and then if there biting again on sunday.

I spend atleast 6 hours out there everytime I go out there. Its usually my friends that wanna leave first I love just sitting out there.

Wow 4 to 6 hours is a short day for me. when I go out I tend to stay all day and sometimes into the night. My normal days fishing are more like 10 to 16 hours.

When I can get out I'm usually out for 2-4 hours. I tend to fish within 30-45 min drive from home. My wife and I have three kids 4,3,and my son turned 2 today... That is why my outings are rather brief. However I do get out 2-3 times a week during the school year and about 5 times a week during the summer as I am a teacher and have summers off. Occationally I'll get out on a weekend excursion or an entire day event. I never personally get tired of wetting the line. Can't wait to retire in 34 years....

I tend to make my outings in the 6-8 hour range, unless my 4 year old daughter wants to tag along. Then they usually end up somewhere around 3-4 hours.

I agree that kids can cut your time down on the lake. I have a 19 month old son who I take out with me. I can get any where from 2-3 hrs out of him, and thats good enough for me.

It depends, If I have the whole day open I may spend the whole day on the lake. If I have other things to do I may just go out for 2-3 hours for the evening bite.

When I am able to go, I do go for usually 4 days at a time, but I am one of the fortunate ones that is on the ice only a few hundred yards from my lake place so I spend at least ten hours a day on the ice when there.

3 hours would be a short outing. 4-6 is usual, 7-8 if I'm enjoying myself. 24+ in the sleeper sometimes (and I mean IN the sleeper, no patrolling).

Around home approx 4-5 hours. If I am out of town then approx 10-12.

Usually 6-10 hours during a weekend day, depending on "perceived" responsibilties at the house. My wife thinks I need to work on my perception abilities...

probably around 4-5 in the portable and in the wheelhouse its not uncommon for me to spend the entire weekend if the fishing is decent

For me, as a guy who is engaged, and has no children, I don't even bother to considering going if it isn't at least for 6 hours at a shot... 8-9 is the average... 10 is not unheard of... I've got several 12's under my belt... .And of course if I'm with my buddy in the sleeper on Mille Lacs is usually a non stop 3 day weekend.

Every Sunday I head out around 6am and pack up around noon. If the wife takes the boys out of town then its sat and sun from sun up to sun down! Or until I run out of propane!!

I hate the feeling that your going to run out of propane. Especialy on a very cold day.

I try to make a day of it. When I go with my buddy we fish 10 to 12 hours. When the wife and my 5yr old girl go we spend anywhere from 4 to 8 hours on the ice. It all depends on the little one alot of times she requests to go fishing.

My propane ran out Saturday in my flip up at 5:45pm. The high wind just robbed me blind with my new Big Buddy heater. Lesson learned!

If i go out after work 4-5 hours on the weekends as long as i can. Sunday my battery went dead in the perm, no power no heat Bought new battery today!!
