Convert power auger to hand auger??

I have a strike master 2 blade 9" power auger. I am making a BWCA laker trip in Feb so I can't use the power auger. Is it possible to convert a lazer mag power auger to a hand auger? Will using it as a hand auger be hard on the blades? I would like to use an 8 or 9" hole in case we get a 10lber. can you buy the handle only from strikemaster and convert it to a hand auger? I see that Gander has 8" mora augers for $30 and SM lazer hand augers for $60. I might just go with the mora if it's too big of a pain to use the power auger's lower unit.

I think that I would go with the hand auger rather than the adapter. I think that it would be less weight to pull around up there! Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo

email me and i will give you some info. also, if you are ever going to buy a hand auger and drill through more than 4 inches, forget about the mora and go with the lazer. so much easier and faster. email me at [email protected]
