Just completed 8.5’ x 15’ retractable wheel fish house with 10 holes and 2 twin size beds. When we (B&H Fabrication) started the design of this fish house we looked at many frames and fish houses on the road and determined that most were built a little on the weak side. We did not want to risk bending the wheels or frame, so I personally ran all of the steel calculations and then had it reviewed by a professional engineer. After we knew what we needed, we beefed it up a little more to reduce risk factor. The entire fish house is built with a steel tube frame and the outer sheeting is a laminated aluminum panel. The walls and ceiling are insulated with styrofoam and are approx R-14. The interior has been finished with a wood (not masonite) paneling. The interior floor is finished with a ¼” thick rubber mat over ¾ treated plywood, this is the same stuff they use around hockey rinks, so it is really tough. Besides being tough, it cleans up really nice and dries quickly when on the lake. The house has 14” tires instead of the 13” tires that are found on most houses. Our finished weight without the paneling and beds was 2680 pounds, I suspect the way it sits now it is about 3000 pounds. Included with the house will be the 30,000 BTU ventless heater, 100# propane tank, ceiling lights, hole covers, (4) rattle reels, (2) twin size mattresses. Please call or email with questions. I have many more pictures of both the finished house and progress pictures.

Thanks for looking.

It is a great thermal break. With the steel tubing for walls studs this thermal break is very important. We have a little frosting around the door and window frames, which is pretty typical, but everywhere else is good.

These same aluminum panels are used in another product we sell. This fall we had a customer special order these bronze colored panels for a job and then changed the order. Fortunately we where able to charge them for the change, but we ended up with 34 aluminum panels we couldn't use anywhere. So we decided to build a couple fish houses. Once this one sells, we build another one for ourselves with the left over material. I supose if someone wants a slightly different size we could keep this house and build the second one to sell. The house turned out really good and I would have no problem keeping this one and selling the next one. If you have any questions or would like to take a closer look, please call me at 612.865.7440. The house is in Becker right now, and I will probably be up on Mille Lacs Saturday & Sunday.
