Does anyone belong to the north american hunting club. The club where you get there magazine and get to try equipment and free samples stuff like that. Sounds like its based out of minnetonka,mn . Is it worth it to join its $12. a year i guess.

$12.00 a year isn't bad.

I was a member for about 10 years.

You get 1 magazine every 2 months (a good read)

They offer you all kinds of other stuff to buy - Videos, Collector Coins.

The only problem that I had was they did the try it and if you like it we'll charge you for it, but if you don't send it back. Well I never sent it back.

As far as the try free stuff - I got to try some gun oil (Actually a baby wipe soaked in oil and packaged up)

Took 10 years of applying to try stuff.

The only reason I got out, was because I decided to start getting the Outdoor News and my wife said enough was enough.

I did the three year sign up for $36.00. Mags are good. I have received a knife & sheath, collector coins and holder, a deer grunt and a venison cook book with seasonings. Also I have received books. Two of them were deer hunting and history rifle and bow. Hard cover. They are awesome. But there was an additional cost for the books. First one was $7.00 then it jumped up to $22.00. You get to read them for ten day and just put them back in the package and their paid postage sticker on the outside of the box. So far well worth the $36.00. Plus you get those handy dandy stickers for your truck. By the way the knife is nice not something I'd use for deer hunting but nice for just throwing in the truck for anytime use.

I've been a life member since 1984. Like others said you get many "opportunities" to "test" items. The problem is they always want you to pay for them. I did once get a duffle bag for participating in a review of a new model F150. I would join for the magazine and information, but do not join if you think it will be a way to get free stuff.

I signed up with them in october and now they say I need to renew my dues before I can keep getting the magazine and free deals.....I told them I hadn't even been a member for 4 months and they told me their new way of doing dues is they run from january to december...not from the the time you sign up...that was enough to make me not sign up again.

I have to disagree on the magazine. I joined thinking it would be good to get another mag to read. But every single thing seems to be overhyping whatever product they're currently promoting. I know most magazines do this but this one seems way over the top. I would way rather have spent my money on Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, Outdoor News, etc.

I think it's a decent magazine, not great. I like Deer & Deer Hunting much better. That said I've been a life member for 5 plus years. The life membership wasn't that much & came with a leather jacket, so for the money was a good deal to me.

I agree the testing thing is pretty much a test it & see if you want to buy it deal. I did test some Buck Studs scent for free once. I didn't care for it.

I never heard of that before, and it just doesn't sound right. I'd check again. I think the magazine is pretty good.

I've been a member for around 7-8 years and I'd say the magazines are worth the $12 annually. I've gotten a few items to test: a deer gambrel, some gun (baby) wipes, and a box of shotgun shells. I've never received books or anything else from them. Plus I got 2 hunting knives as a gift.

I have been a life member for some time and the best I can tell you is give it a try and decide for yourself. The mag. is much like any outdoor mag. and you will recieve more of the try for 30 day offers then the test and keep. To me this is understandable becusse manufactures can only give out so meny items to be tested to differnt clubs. The 30 trial stuff I beleif are items the club is looking to sell themeself. Do not join looking for a lot of free things to try and keep.

good call Ufatz. Im a life member of the fishing club, and I swear they are always selling somehting or advertising something for someone else. Ive learned a lot from the mag, so if that is what you want It may be worth it. If you are turned off by rampant commercialism pass.

I've been a life member for a little under a year now. I have tested a nice folding pocket knife and a collapsable plastic lantern. The magazine is good, and I also got a bunch of stuff for signing up. It depends on what you are looking for. I prefer FM to any of the clubs since it is free and the information is better.
