Hunter Winfield Resort

Recommended Posts

Please welcome Hunter Winfield’s resort as one of our Mille Lacs forum sponsors. Since under new management, Hunter Winfield’s Resort, formerly Severson’s, has made many improvements which include: upgrading cabins to 4 seasons, purchasing brand new ice fishing wheel houses featuring flat screen TVs, DVD players, Playstations, stove oven and bathroom. Other improvements include a new office, new guest shower facilities and a guest “tavern.” The resort is in the process of obtaining a food and beverage license. The cabins are true log cabins, something you won’t find at many resorts today. The resort has just over 275’ of lake shore and plans are in the works to install a public dock system with slip rentals. They are also planning on offering gas for boat customers. In addition to the cabins, Hunter Winfield’s offers 8 RV hookups. The resort is off the main street, offering guests a quiet and relaxing environment on Isle Bay.

Their contact info is 320.676.1100.

Its about time! I went up and stayed there a few weeks ago and had a great time. We caught fish and stayed in the nicest house I've ever been in. Great people there and more then willing to go that extra mile. If your heading up they would be the first ones I would call.

    • Britt: Do you know where to view the Ruffed Grouse Society Invitational Hunt in Grand Rapids MN annual harvest statistics by year? Thanks.
    • Watch their interference disappear when you shut your marcum off 🤨
    • Rick was going to start that topic right after this one slowed down! 😅
    • Don't be fooled by stainless cables. Take proper care of them and change them every few years.Do your pivots every couple years too.
    • Might as well get augers in on this too!
    • Just counted 14 of them under and on my feeder. Cardinals, Nuthatches, Juncos, and asst sparrows came in and they chased them all away. It's like one stands guard and chase everything off. Sorry guys, time has come to start thinning the blue rats out!

    • nope..........havent graduated to posting meme's yet!!!!!!!!!
    • Have a marcum LX9 also use a couple Lowrance units. After using them side by side there are features I like on both but just comparing sonar units I'd have to say that my lowrance units squeak out a win for me over the Marcum. Both are very close to the same performance. The Marcum is much easier to just plop and fish where the lowrance units you have to dial in for each situation. I've never been a traditional flasher guy and never see the need to after using a graph.
    • Yep put mine away this past Saturday. I haven't used it since August. I wanted to park my truck inside instead and I would rather hunt then fish anyways...
