Windy City Walleye Hunter
I couldn't take it any more and God I was crazed. When this feeling came upon me like a tidal wave.I started praying to my God and on my mother's gravethat I would love you (Bears) till the end of time!OK Buzz, if and when the Bears get into the big dance we will put the avatars on the line. Bears win the Super Bowl, you put a Bears avatar up for two weeks. Bears lose the Super Bowl, I put up a Queens avatar for two weeks. So now I'm prayin for the end of time, to hurry up and arrive. Cause if I got to spend another minute with Buzz, I don't think that I can really survive. I'll never break my promise or forget my vows, but God only knows what I can do right now so I can end my time with you!Windy
buzzsaw
Your a lyrical poet! But the bet was including the Division Championship game as well... The Bears need to win two games for you to win the bet and if they win it all then I lose. So Is it cool to do it this way?
genegodawa
Buzz, Whatsamatter You? You can't see the absurdity in Windy Limbaugh's answer to you? Of course he knew the bet was 2 games.....he's just trying to sneak another one by us.
Windy City Walleye Hunter
Well..............Let me sleep on it, I'll give you an answer in the morning!Though the deck seems stacked against me as I have to win two games and you only have to win one yet the payoff is the same. What's the dillio with dat? I have to get some points, or the payoff has to be bigger on my end or smaller on your end. How bout 6.5 points for my beloved Bears on both games? So I guess the question to you Buzz would be.....DEAL OR NO DEAL?Windy
genegodawa
Windy, I don't see no LOL on THAT post asking for points.....sheesh.
buzzsaw
We'll, since I know deep down (based on past posts of yours) that you don't give points if you have faith in your team... I think I would be asking you to sell your soul by TAKING points... I wouldn't feel good about that bud! Do the deal is still the original deal... your team has to win it all and if they don't, you lose and have to change your avatar.... So is it YES or NO?
genegodawa
Buzz, I'll bet you he says no....as in, NO CONFIDENCE in his team to even score points, let alone receive them.PS Wanna also bet he "sleeps" on it?
Windy City Walleye Hunter
Geno,I'm just busting chops on the points but this bet does not make sense on it's face. Buzz gets three of the four teams left in the hunt and I get one, yet he gets paid off even. That's not good odds and that is coming from an old poker player. Let me propose a similiar bet to you and or Buzz. I will give you, Geno, the Cubs to win the world series next year and I will take every other team left in the hunt. The loser has to put up the avatar of the winner's choice for one year. Does that sound like a bet you would take? I will offer the same bet to Buzz, except he can take the Twinks and I will take all the other teams left in the hunt. You see, the payoff has to be proportionate to the amount of risk being taken. I am taking one of the four teams left and they have to not only win once but twice. Las Vegas has dozens of beautifully built mega casinos that were built on suckers taking those odds, but like Samuri Mike said in the Super Bowl Shuffle...."Ain't no sucker gonna get past me".Windy
buzzsaw
tick tock, the clock is ticking Windy. Don't you have faith in your team? err Grossman and that defense? I understand they've been giving up 30 points a game these days and that has to be a little concerning, especially since all the Bears fans already had them holding the Lombardi trophy in their dreams. The way I look at it is, If I would have made you this bet when the bears were playing better football (2 months ago) and said they are in the final four, have homefield advantage for the NFC championship game against the SAINTS... would you have said "HELLZ YEA"?? like your boys down in Cabrini are still sayin'. I just sense that you have something in common with the Lion in the Wizard of Oz... can you tell me what that is?
james_walleye
Just saw a poll on ESPN asking which matchup people want too see in the superbowl. 72% wanted too see the saints in the bowl.
fishyguy
I will tell you what. If I was from a town that was has been sticking my chest out since last year and was a guy who has been humming the Super Bowl Shuffle around the house since game 1, while watching my team pull victory after victory from dark places within their backsides to gain home field advantage, I would be very ashamed to wilt like a delicate little flower in front these same guys I have beating my chest in from of. I can't think of any witty lyrics for a song to cover this Windy but I am sure there is a Bette Midler, Amy Grant or Clay Aiken song to cover this type of behavior. Windy City Walleye Hunter
James,I will bet the TV station is not one of those 72%. I'm sure the 250,000 folks down in Na Lins can't wait to balloon those ratings while the 10 million here in the windy just sit back and laugh. And as for Fishy and the rest here, all I can say is...."Fish ain't bitin', baby". Not unless I get some better odds from the Buzz-meister. Points or odds, Buzz. Like the King said....."It's now or never".Windy

Not unless I get some better odds from the Buzz-meister. Points or odds, Buzz. Like the King said....."It's now or never". You have the best record in the NFC, you have homefield advantage and your ASKING for points!! Just getting that quote means as much to me as beating you in the bet! If you have to back out cuz your chuck chuck chicken, thats okay... I understand when you don't have confidence in your teams. (See 1908-2004 White Sox) I will admit yoour team is in a great position to win it all and am surprised you are asking for points, truly. I guess you have til kickoff to either step up or play the role of a scardy cat.... balk, balk....
Windy City Walleye Hunter
Buzz,Fish ain't bitin in your pond either, better switch baits. The points issue has always been a red herring. Under your bet you have three teams or 75% of the field, I have one team or 25% of the field. Gots to change the payoff if you want some action. Have you thought of my proposed bet for the upcoming baseball season. Since you have the best pitcher in baseball as well as numerous other superstar players who took home some hardware this year you should have no problem taking the Twinks to win the World Series, I would have to say they are probably the prohibative favorite to win the whole enchilada, they may be the first team to go 162-0 this year. So what do you say, I take the rest of the teams who have little or no chance to win the Series and you take the mighty Twinks. Even up for an avatar bet for the year. DEAL OR NO DEAL???Windy
genegodawa
Windy, this is sooooo simple but you just can't say it can you? Fishy is right on with the chest-thumping.And of course I would say no to your - I have to call a spade a spade like you do in poker - STUPID "Cubs to the WS" analogy to this football bet with Buzz.Don't take the bet if you don't like the odds. Just say NO, and then we'll just move on back to WSox vs the field for next year's WSeries. An advanced apology if you read too much seriousness into my posting. It's all in fun, huh?PS I'm looking for INDY to take it all - but I'm not betting on them! Nyuk, nyuk.
buzzsaw
It's okay, I can see your scared of having to field a different avatar... I'll go straight up and take the Saints today for a one week avatar bet... you have the odds in your favor being the homefield and all! If your Bears win, we can do the same bet for the Super Bowl. You can't possibly spin this one can you?! If you do, there is something way wrong!

Worst Kid
Bears vs ColtsGO BEARS!!!!!!!!! Been a Bears fan all my life even though I'm born and raised in Minnesota. Plus if the Bears lose the Super Bowl we can stop hearing the media talk about Payton Manning not winning a title buts thats not gonna happen!
Windy City Walleye Hunter
Buzz,I never meant to "spin" anything. I just wanted the rewards to be equal to the odds, ie if the Bears win the Super Bowl and you had three of the teams then the length of the avatar posting should have been 3 to 1 in weeks, months or whatever. Like I said before, the points issue was a red herring and was always meant in jest (even though my beloved are installed as 6.5 point dogs already). Had you offered the odds, I would have taken the bet. Doesn't really matter now. Windy

Windy City Walleye Hunter
Now Geno,Let's suppose we ammend the Cubbie bet as follows. Since I have 30 or so teams and you have 1 team then if the Cubbies win I have to post a Cubbie avatar for 30 days and if any of the other teams wins you have to post the avatar for 1 day. That would be proportionate risk vs. payoff, right? I was just looking for a fair share of avatar time based on only having one dog in the fight compared to 3. By now you should know that the points were never an issue, just the reward for the risk. Take off your cheesehead you were probably wearing today, put down your cup of Cubbie Kool-Aid and join me in a chorus of...........BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS.MAKE EVERY PLAY, CLEAR THE WAY TO VICTORY!!!!!!!Windy
genegodawa
Windy, Now, don't tell me you didn't have to change your underwear after the Bears went up 16-0 only to give up about 300 yards and a few scores to the sAints before getting a few "lucky" passes/plays to take charge of the game.Kudos to the Bears and for all their fans for sticking by them despite the fact they just can't seem to play a full game - but alas, I know, all that matters is the W.Go INDY!PS Who was the last team to beat the Bears? I'm starting to smell some cheese.......PPS I will take that Cubs bet at 30 to 1.
