Sandmannd
I have a two man portable. Last year I used a propane tank with a heater on the top to keep warm. I've heard this is no good for Corbin Monoxide poisoning. What type of heater would be good to use in a portable and also what are some good lights to wire up to it? KidWalleye
I do the same thing and have had no problems. I do keep the vents on my voyager open all the time. Also I don't always bank it in so I know I'm getting plenty of fresh air.Kid
Ryan_V
in a portable, you shouldn't have to worry about CO poisoning, unless you are pretty air tight. Most portables breath plenty of fresh air underneath, at the seams, etc. throw in a little wind and you will have too much fresh air.
chaser
I use a big buddie heater and it has a low oxygen shut off on it
lookin4fish
i myself never worry about it. if i do sit in one all day i tend to get a headache, but if that happens i just step outside or flip it over for a few minutes of fresh air. you really have to be careful with the new shacks like the pullbehinds because they are built so well. but most of them have vented heaters. you can never be too safe, but i have never worried about it happening in my portable. ozzie
big and little buddy heaters are the ticket....you feel good after fishing instead of feeling like you were smelling propane all day......the buddy heaters are worth ever penny... Northlander
No matter what you use to heat your house always keep a source of oxygen open. I always keep a small opening in my lower door ziper and the top vent part open.

Mr.Seaguar
I find that if I move as often as I should, the shack never gets low on oxygen. Night fishing is probably a different story.
