korn_fish
How late can one expect the actual whelping date to be from the anticipated date? I have a pup reserved from a breeded that was due Sept. 1st. I havent heard anything yet and the anticipation of a new pup has me all worked up it seems I haven't contacted the breeder because I don't want to be a pest But was wondering how late one could expect the pups to actually be born. Thanks
LABS4ME
They are due 63 days past the last breeding... mine generally come on the 61st or 62nd day. Anything past 65 usually signals problems... I's imagine they are on the ground. I highly doubt the breeder would find you a pest a week past their whelping date. I know when I have a litter, I don't need people calling me around their due date, but a week later would never be an issue. I usually put a call into everyone who has a deposit on a pup on the day they are born to let them know they have a pup on the ground.Good Luck!Ken
