Lac Veiux Desert

Heading up there for a family vacation in early Oct., am concerned about the lake turning over with some cooler temps earlier.

Any idea when turnover for most lakes in the eagle river, WI area is? Dates?

Any advice for this lake? Will most likely target 'eyes and perch, though Petrowske's gonna kill me for not throwing baits made from 2X4's.

I'll kill you after Jon does if you don't at least try for the esox critters! Still a great place to catch one of those gorgeous hybrids. Sorry, I don't have any advice for the lake but will do a little research for ya

From what I can roust up: try Long Point, Duck Point, Duck and Lesleys Islands, and the humps west of Little Duck Island. Those are the old reliable walleye locales. Watch out for esox in these areas as well Good luck JN.

Hey, appreciate the information you hunted down. I'll give those spots a try, and am thinking that a night run with some cranks might be fun too. Will do some exploring and let you know what happens. Have to wait until Oct. tho!

No prob, sounds like the lake has tons of perch in it if the eyes don't cooperate.
