Hey guys, I got my new outdoor rig a couple weeks ago and was wondering what all you guys use when it comes to the fall hunting season and ice season!!! I can't wait to see what she will do during duck hunting and plowing through the snow to my hot spot!!!

Perchjr,

I don't know if you need your firearms cased in SD (I think I heard you do not) but I would, since your firearms are just going to get muddy riding up front like that. Also, if you ride areas with low hanging branches, you'll want to angle your scabbard towards the rear more. Looks like all you need is a cargo box and you're set. Hope you have fun and ride safely.

That Arctic Cat rack system is nice. I was thinking about ording one of those utility/gun racks for my 400. Question for you, does it open up far enough to carry a cased gun? And would it close down far enough to carry a fishing spear and ice spud? I guess that's 2 questions.

SD and ND you don't need to case firearms just FYI. You can even have the have shells in the gun as long as there isn't on in the chamber.

Unless it was changed in 2006, firearms need to be unloaded and cased on a snowmobile or ATV in South Dakota. A landowner may have a firearm uncased on an ATV on his own land, but not a snowmobile or motorcycle. P30 of the regulations. The gunrack on my ATV will hold them in the case. confused.gif

My mistake I though SD has the same policy as ND. But after re reading SD regulations I stand corrected. Thanks for pointing that out for me.
