Lowrance Map Create

How hard is it to download the Map Create 6 program from Lowrance ? I am a little handicaped when it comes to computers would this be over my head

I don't believe you can download Mapcreate from Lowrance, you have to buy the CD from a vendor I think....your not talking the 6.2 or 6.3 upgrade are you.

What are you looking to do with Mapcreate...?

I am talking about the map create 6 with the two CD's I want to get the expanded base maps of Minn, ND,SD,WI, and IA. and maybe mess around making some maps. I have the CD's but don't have the instructions to download or use them. I am thinking this is over my head.

The MapCreate I got last winter, version 6.0 I think, had 6 CDs. Put CD #1 in and follow the on-screen directions.

Sounds like maybe I don't have the whole set. I got them from a guy at work he said he never used them. Can anyone else confirm there are more that 2 CD's to the map create.

The set I have has 6 CDs. One for a different region of the country. Disc #1 has the start-up info on it.

Mine is a 2 disk set also. I wonder if the difference is the topo and non-topo maps?

The two set CD version is an older version. The latest version is 6 CD's and costs about $100.00.

There is much more info and detail on the 6CD set.

Well I messed around with it and got it to work. I have the 2 CD set....how much more detail is on the 6.3 are the maps topo? Also is there a way I can get the indidvidual maps on my comp. screen. What I want to do is make a map of an area and print it out. Maybe its over my head????

I don't know what scale the 6 CD set goes to. It has 6 CDs for 6 regions of the US: northwest, southwest, north central, south central, north east and south east. You can make custom maps with user selectable amounts of detail. You can print these out or download them to a sd card and use them in a Lowrance GPS. You choose the area you want. If you are going on a car trip, you can make a map of the freeway corridor you are driving that has points of interests (gas, food, rest stops, etc.).

2 cd sets are non-topo maps.

6 cd sets are topo maps.

Otherwise scale is the same on both.
