Bobberboy
I'm thinking about an ice fishing trip to Lake Simcoe for Perch. The guys in the Canada forum don't seem to have any info. I will take any and all details on where to stay, time of the winter to go, anything you got. Thanks in advance, "Your bobbers down!"
CNY Tim
Bobberboy - Don't fish Simcoe but asked a couple of friends that fish it to provide a little help to you. Welcome to the NY Board and sorry bout the lull in the action of late but things will be heating up soon here..
Bobberboy
I understand, I'm always too eager to get on the ice. I was reading that some consider Lake Simcoe the best Perch fishing lake in North America.I live about an hour and a half from Mille Lacs and three hours from Winnie. I feel both of these lake are very good Perch waters so Simcoe must be very special. Thanks for the bump."Your bobbers down!"

hanson
I've heard and read about Simcoe too for perch. Unfortunately, I won't be out that way anytime soon. I will say, I bet Devil's Lake, ND a few years ago would have won any contest for "best" perch lake in North America. Maybe some of the SD glacial lakes too would have put a run on that title. We've definitely got some good ones here in Minnesota. Lake Mille Lacs, Winnibigoshish, Lake of the Woods would be my top 3 for jumbos (which I'd classify as 14" +). Bobberboy
HansonNo argument on the Minnesota Lakes. I got a 15+" out of Mille Lacs last winter. It's always fun to try new water and see new territory."Your bobbers down!"
B3B
I've gone to Simcoe. The fishing can be great, but like anywhere else, some days you have to hunt them down. Here's a good site to get info on places to stay. There's everything avalible from some really nice B&B's to rundown motels! Lake Simcoe Fishing This guy, I think, is the best on Cooks Bay if that's where you fish. Cooks Bay Guide Here's a map of Cooks Bay;
