upnorthtmh
I have seen this referred to several times - what is it exactly. Thanks for any info
delmuts
in one of the forums there is a picture, but i can't find it right now. what it is , is a modified carolina rig. instead of a heavy weight ,swivle, and bead, and a longer leader; this rig uses a pegged weight on the line, with 12 -18 of line after the weight, and some type of texas rigged plastic.( senko to finese worms, or ??)you work it like a carolina rig.( let it sink to the bottom and pull it) i just started using it and have found it to be a GREAT way to catch bass! ( and easy to use!)

TNFL
What I like to do is use a roung toothpick and peg the sinker or bead. That way you can switch to a texas rig if you like, plus you can adjust your leader legnth.Others use a gremlin bull shot crimp on sinker.
RK
Hiya,I'm not sure when it's going to be available, but Northland has a new sinker coming out that I got to see at ICAST (the big fishing industry show) in Las Vegas in July. It's a pretty neat deal - can be a regular sliding bullet sinker, or can be fixed in place with a rubber deal that won't chew up your line like pegging with a toothpick can. Will be great for this, or Texas rigging, or walleye spinner rigs with a bullet sinker. Gambler also makes a 'Florida Rig' sinker that you can slide up and down, or Mojo rigs work well too. BobOmaha
Back in the "olden days", we used to soak the round tooth-pics in anise oil (or something similar) to add "scent". (Don't know that it made any difference, but it always made the tackle box smell good... and gave me the desire to eat some black licorice! )
Ray Esboldt
I use to have a whole tackle bag that smelled of black licorice. I like the Mojo Rig sinkers for this arrangement.
SCUMFROG
Isn't that the same as a Carolina rig? Looks the same to me…
ikeslayer
it is similiar to a carolina only differences are that it is usually lighter weight, there is no bead or barel swivel and the sinker is usually a bullshot or split shot crimped on. ike
SCUMFROG
And this is new? I've been using that rig for years. But then again I'm not a pro so no one is going to give me credit for it.
Deitz Dittrich
Nobody really said it was new....but maybe new to some people.
delmuts
it is just one of those rigs that some of us had never heard about, and now have something ( new to us) to use! i've been using it on a small heavily pressured lake, with great success! ( even when taking some one new to fishing!)
