nofishfisherman
I was up on the St. Coix near Hinckley at St. Croix State Park this last weekend and tried a few cast looking for smallies. I had no luck at all but I am thinking about giving it a better effort this weekend.Any advice on where to look or what to use for bait/lures? I haven't fished for smallies much and never really in a river so any tips would be great.Next time I will be in a canoe most likely so I should be able to cover more water. Thanks for any info and tips. Deitz Dittrich
I too would love to hit that stretch of river.. I know there is a club that fishes it from float rafts and such with fly gear and do pretty good...I myself would just use normal smallie stuff.. mepps spinners, senko tyle, craw lures..ect... Topwater is probably good to go as well.
