LEADCORE LINE

Was thinking again,and was woundering if leadcore line would work as a weight instead of a sinker. Like maby a two foot peice?

That is a good idea, just tip it with a little mono and your good to go I'm sure it will help keep those frisky shiners down. what about memory in the line? do you think it will be a problem? I know the stuff has some curl to it.Try it out and let us know.

Thats an awsome Idea that would work great on rattlereels. What knot would you use to tie the lines together or would you use swivels instead.I use flyline on my rattles.When I jig I dont like sinkers on my line and if those eyes are finicky you could also jig with small jigs and have a weighted line to get do their.

I would use a splice knot. pretty fail safe. I don't like a lot of garbage on my line either, especially when jigging.

I will try drawing a picture of a splice and post it here. I have had really good luck with it on tipups.

Ok, I can't draw so I found it on the net. This is a great knot for tieing heavy line to mono.

thanks love to hunt, do you tie your leadcore to main and snell or mono or just run ledcore to hook/leader etc.

I have never used leadcore but have heard and read things about it. whats a good line to use.

I woulden't think memory would be a problem, or we would of heard about it from trollers.As for what to tie the leader on with, I think I'll put a quick clipfrom reel to leadcore,and the same on the other end with the dropper line that way I can just unclip the leadcore and dropper when changing over to something heavyer and not have to retie every time. good call on the knot L T H.could be eairly ice this year,the way the geese are already starting to feild up!!!!
