LovenLifeGuy
Anyone have a suggestion on a cheaper but light wieght 12ga gun for upland hunting? Maybe $300-$400 and used would be fine. Thanks, LovenLifeGuy
Dock Boy
You can't go wrong with a Remington 870 express. Cheap pretty reliable and can get different barrels for different applications. Hope this helps
setterguy
You can get a real nice used gun for 400 bucks, what are you looking for? over/under, auto, pump? The 870 is a workhorse but I find it heavy to lug around all day...it is very dependable and affordable however. But for 400 dollars you have a lot of options. LovenLifeGuy
I have an 870 and yes it is a good gun but a little heavy! I am looking for an auto for the field. I was looking at a used browning gold fusion (sp?). It seemed very light and fit me well. Anyone know anything about this gun or own one? I'm still looking to see what others are shooting or suggest. Is a 20ga a good option? Thanks, LovenLifeGuy

DewDropper89
My buddy has a Rem 12 ga 870 Wingmaster with a 26" light-contour barrel and it is significantly lighter and better balanced than my 12 ga 870 Express with 28" standard barrel. I believe my gun is listed at 7.5# where his is advertised at 6.75#. Less front-heavy too. Makes a big difference for long days of walking...should be able to find one on the upper end of your price range.
