Hemlock
As you drive north on HWY 71, just before Sioux Narrows, you hang a left onto Fickas Road. 1 mile from there.
fishing4fun
Thanks everyone, How's the walleye and musky fishing been out that direction.Going on a family vacation next week and looking for some general advise. Thanks again.
Jacob
For walleyes I would go North towards Yellow Girl if you are looking for numbers of fish. If your looking for the big girls they are around the snake bay/whitefish area but you will probably have to put in some time.
fishing4fun
Thanks again,They are staying out on Anne Island so they are not to far from Snake or Whitefish. What's the presentions going right now for some walleyes. They are just looking for some fish for a shore lunch. ThanksWhat about the skies in the area? Hemlock
If they are looking for some fish for lunch, they might want to go for a boat ride up to Yellowgirl/Sunset Channel. Walleyes are finicky in Whitefish Bay. Big, but few and far between. Snake is a little better and their best bet if travelling far isn't an option. I beleive trolling bottom bouncer with a gold spinner/minnow might do the trick there. Muskies are all around where they will be.
fishing4fun
Hemlock,What depths are the walleyes in right now? Are they hanging on the rock reefs or somewhere else. What areas should I send them to. I'm just trying to help my parents find some fish. Also is the pike population like around Snake Bay? They are staying out on an Island 2 miles out of Snake Bay. So that'll be the area they fish most. He has GPS so they won't be afraid to travel either. My dad has been to LOW 10 times, this is just a new location on the lake. Is the bite all minnows? Are leeches still available? Any think I can give him will be a big help. Thanks
Hemlock
Leeches are still available, I beleive. Nestor Falls or farther south. They will want to troll points and shorelines with a bottom bouncer/spinner and minnow or leech in Snake Bay. Good friend of mine has been telling me that this year has been better than the year before. Pike are mixed in with walleyes in Snake Bay. 12'-20' is where they will be, but don't rule out the shallows, and deeper is also an option (I always like to cover my butt!) fishing4fun
Thanks to all who posted. My parents leave tonight and will be back next Wednesday. My dad is going to try everything he has in his bag. I hope it works. As of late how have the walleyes been doing? One more question, what's the fire situation like up there? Can they have a shore lunch or bon-fire on the rock point at dark? Thanks again.......
Hemlock
One more thing on the fishing....speak to others that are camping/RVing there..they'll have a scoop.Fire ban is off. Shore lunch and bon fires are good to go.
