I know this is early but.... has anybody got the scoop about needing a passport starting in 2007 to enter into Canada? Planning a fishing trip in March and don't want to be left hanging on that.

Starting 1/1/07, you will need a passport to re-enter the US from an outside country.

This is from the US GOV site.

December 31, 2006 - Requirement applied to all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.

December 31, 2007 - Requirement extended to all land border crossings as well as air and sea travel.

Tod has it right... if you're going to drive you won't need one until 2008... if you're flying over the border you'll need one at the end of this year...
