Recommendations for an ice fishing trip

Was wondering if any of you out there would have some recommendations on a good lake to take a trip to this coming winter? Would like to find a lake with a good crappie and walleye bite. We have been to Red lake, Mille lacs, and LOW, but we are looking for something different and new. Would like to be able to rent a sleeper or possibly a cabin or a resort room, then we would just use portables and 4 wheelers. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Big fan of the NW Angle myself.

I have also been to the Nestor Falla area too. We stay at Muskie Bay on Crow, and fish lakers there, and then skip across the highway to LOW for crappies, perch, and occasionally some walleyes and pike.

Thanks for the replies! We have not tried the angle on LOTW, so that might be a consideration. The Cass lake thing sounds interesting too, we haven't been there yet. This gives me a few things to think about for awhile, Thanks again.

dumb question - but.... Do you have to move around to three different spots of can you hook up on all three species in one spot? Would be a perfect spot to throw the permanent - for a weekend this winter

Only if your catching perch on the bars and then you will catch walleyes as the evening progresses. But, like any lake you must move and drill more holes to find fish and get a limit. I've also stayed only at highbanks but mainly we've pulled my buddies sleeper out there. As for crappies you want to stay north.
