LMS332C/Lakemap question.

Juan Grande

Question

I'm having trouble loading the Lakemaster data on my 332C. I have the chip loaded right, but I can figure out how to get the contours to appear. The manual says to hit "Menu" and then "Map Data", but I'm not sure if the data that's appearing is reading from the chip or if it's just the stuff that came with the unit. It's not very detailed so I'm guessing I'm not seeing the lakemaster stuff.

Anyone have any quick and dirty tips on how to load the data?

Thanks

Good question!! I just had my puck replaces at CP marine and was on Tonka Sunday and the lake map contours were not showing up on mine either! Anybody know what to do out there?

Maybe you've already done this, but mine would not show up unless I zoomed into a lake had the lines. When I first tried my chip, I was zooming into lakes that were not part of the chip. I posted the same question as you and was helped out by one of the great posters here. If you've already done what I've suggested, then I'm not sure what the problem is. Good luck.

Lakemaster is plug and play, meaning you put the chip in your unit and turn it on. No need to do anything more than that. When you get to the lake the contour lines automatically show up.

Do you maybe have the Navionics chip? That chip DOES require you to hit map data and then select the area that you are in.

Nope, I have the Lakemaster chip.

You'd think they'd have contours for Minnetonka on there. I turned the GPS map on and zoomed into my boat. I could see the outline of the lake and some depth numbers, but no contours. The stuff I was seeing seemed like some general info that might come with the unit. It had streets, POI, etc. but no contours.

I don't usually have a problem figuring out that kind of stuff, but I was sitting on the water for a half hour yesterday pushing buttons.

Juan,

Tonka is in one foot contours so you should see plenty of lines. When you turn the unit on do you have a little chip blinking in the lower right hand corner of your screen. Also if you went into map data you might have changed a setting by mistake. Hit menu, map data, select Lowrance, then hit the exit key twice to get out of it.

Buzz, You will need to hit menu, map data, then select the area that you are in (in your case smn61.nv2) enter and then hit the exit button twice to get out of that menu. You must be zoomed into 1/7 or 1/14 in order for all of the contour lines to show up.

I have two units and run Navonics in one and Lakemaster on the other. On my Lakemaster chip you do need to go to map data and select Lakemaster (The only other option I get with mine is Miami Demo.) There is also a setting in the Map data screen that you need to uncheck it is the SHOW WATER LINE IN WHITE once you do this then all of your contours will show up regardless of zoom setting. On the Navonics chip you do need to select the appropriate map set for the area you are fishing like Paul mentioned. Good Fishing!!

Thanks Paul and Pherris,

I'll have to try that and see if it works. Does it make sense that my old "puck" died and when it was re-placed it reset the unit or something wierd like that? I compared the pucks and the writing is identical so it appears to me to be the correct replacement.

Paul & Pherris,

Thanks for the tips. Pherris, I did go into Map Data and pulled that drop down menu and I expected to see "Lakemaster" in there. The only two options I get are "Miami Demo" and "Lowrance."

That "Show Waterline in White" option is checked off. Maybe my unit isn't reading the card for some reason. I'll have to check and see if the card light is blinking in the corner.
