Wouldn't bother me if Kessle went pro. He is a great player but he's not much of a team player. Now before anyone goes throwing statistics at me, I know he had a lot of assists. Most of those assists came on either the power play or because his shot got blocked and someone shot in the rebound. Again, I know he is a great player. But if I have to watch him try that inside/outside move every time he has the puck instead of passing again this year I may have to shoot myself! How often does that actually work for him? Maybe 1 in 20 times? It got to the point last year that I was mad when it did work because I knew that meant he would try it more often.

My prediction for the year: Wheeler is going to have a breakout season.

The Bruins wanted him to play at Minnesota this year so he is staying put.... it should be nice having three of the top 7 draft picks in the NHL on the Gophers this year. I wouldn't doubt if thats bogus info.

From Shooter at the Pioneer Press:

"On Monday, Phil Kessel, the fifth overall pick by Boston in last month's NHL draft, told the Gophers coaching staff that he intends to return for his sophomore season."

I'm not surprised the Bruins want him to play at MN at least another year. He's a dam good player but he is not ready for the pros.

I too hope Wheeler has a breakout year. The beginning of last year he showed so much potential and I thought he was going to be better than he was. I hope this is the year.

Not so quick on Kessel. The Boston Globe has an article saying nobody is sure were the info came from saying Kessel is returning to MN. There is a link on INCH.

Erik Johnson is going to be fun to watch.

Wheeler is going to be a darn good player and fun to watch.

Kessel's head is always elsewhere. He's only OK. I actually think the Gophs would be better without him. They would be more of a team.
