Next question: Where do I locate RV salvage yards in Minnesota? I could only find 1 in Minnesota, somewhere in Harmony called Harmony Enterprises.

I guess if the foam is in good shape, but I'd be a bit leary on salvage yard foam. Probably moldy and smelly I'd guess. Anywhere to buy them new?

There is a place called A1 Foam & Upholstery. I think they have two locations and I believe they have foam for RV seats and stuff like that. I think they are only open until like 5 at night, so you might have to make a stop during the day. I have seen some foam at placed like JoAnn Fabrics too.

Edit: There is one in Bloomington 952-253-1972

and one in Circle Pines 763-717-1640

Hope this helps.

A good upholstery place that I use and would be close for you is Premier Upholstery in Rogers. I use them a lot for work on upholstery but I would bet that they would have foam and could even custom make what every you want. They seem to love having little side jobs.

I was amazed at the prices of these mattresses. Checked around at a few places list here as well as some other recommendations (A1 Foam and Upholtery) and found some prices.

A 6 foot by 2 foot piece of 4 inch foam runs average of $75! I think I need to get into the foam cushion industry.

Actually, I went to a Mobile Home Sales lot and asked what they did with the display furniture that came with the house if the buyer didn't want it. I ended up loading my 8' pickup box with beds, chairs and a couch, even a coffee table. At that time('81,'82) all that stuff cost me about $30. The mattresses are only 3" thick but they still made some GREAT cushions. My daughter still uses 'em for her sleepouts in the tent. Just another "resource", to check. Phred52
