Crow Lake advice

Recommended Posts

Well our countdown is less than two weeks until we hit Crow Lake in Ontario.

I'd be interested in hearing what lures or presentations have worked well in the past on this lake.

From what I have heard previously the sand, cabbage, mid-lake structure, and night trolling can be effective.

We know there are some real monsters in that lake so we may outfit one of the guys in our group to look like a lake trout; put a bunch of treble hooks on him and just troll with him off the back. grin.gif

Doonbuggy,

I just got back from there after a week long trip to Crow and LOW. The fish on Crow are about a month ahead of schedule and were generally in their summer patterns holding off the deep edges of the reefs in the main lake. Some of the guys that were in camp and trolling did well, but the bite was generally tough. One guy in our group did catch 2 - 48 inchers Crow and I was lucky enough to land a 50 incher on LOW.

Most of our fish were caught on bucktails, but we did have a couple caught on top-raiders and on deep diving crankbaits like a jake or grandma. I believe our 3 biggest were all caught on bucktails though. Good luck!!!
