Power tilt and trim

broncosguy711

Question

Sounds like a dumb question, but I have power trim and tilt on my boat, and if people have read my post, I am wondering if I am able to use what is on my boat for the new motor I get? or am I going to have to pay more for a new T&T system? Or are they interchangable?

Thanks-

Broncs

If the unit is separate from your motor, like a plate, you can keep it, otherwise you will have to leave it with the motor.

I believe your Force has a built in T&T unit.

Send me a picture of it, or post it here, I'll be able to tell you right away. If it's attached you will be able to use it ONLY on another Force motor.

OK. so it can only be used on a force. is it worth me keeping the t&t only? as I was told by the shop that I am dealing with that they would take care of the old motor. My guess is there are still a lot of usable parts in the motor. How much would somone want to give to paret it out?

Thanks-

Yes you can part motor out, it is a time consuming job, but you should get some money, anything will help the "new motor" bill, but Force brand is not the most "sought" outboard.

Best place to sell parts is hsolist, if you know how to do it.

I figured the price they gave you included your motor trade in also.

You could keep it and try to part it out on hsolist or something. If it was me, I would say take it, it will end up being a pain in your butt in the end. At least that is what I have found from keeping "junk" that might be worth something in the past, lol

I was thinking about that parts thing also, but have enough parts stuff out in the garage that there is no room for a motor.

Valv:

I was thinking that would include the trade in price also, but the sales guy has not called back since Monday and that was me calling him. He knows the schedule I want for getting the work done. with the 30 day wqarranty I want to be able to workt he motor over for a 5 day 4th of July weekend. I left a message yesterday and still have not heard back. But he was all over helping the wife saying he would be going to the owner and such to make sure it gets done by Monday. hmmmmmmmm. Maybe I should call in with a high pitched voice and see where that gets me for the motor.
