Portable summer storage?

Crow Hunter

Recommended Posts

Looking for ideas on summer storage of portable sleds. I have taken the canvas off my frabill xlt and stored it, but we are still tripping over the sled in the garage... Anybody have any good ideas for an easy way to attach a hoist and lift it up to the rafters? Thanks for any ideas.

Hang it from the ceiling. I have an Otter Lodge that I store from my garage ceiling. I bought something called heavy lift and it reels down to about 2 feet of the ground. It will hold about 250 lbs. It is a 4x4 platform. Works pretty sweet. Picked up at Menards for $130

I did a search on the internet under Heavy Lift Garage Storage Systems and came up with a picture that looks just like what is above. You can order from a couple of different sites I found.

I accomplish the same thing with some ropes and a couple pulleys, if cost is an issue. Looks like the lift might be easier to lift however. Ropes are either a two man operation or I tie them to my ATV and pull it up into the rafters and secure it.

Thats really sweet!! Thanks for sharing.

I wouldn't mind paying extra bucks for something that works as slick as that does. And when you are parkin' your Tahoe under it, I sure wouldn't want it falling on the roof! wink.gif

The thing is sweet, i have my heater, rods , auger, all my ice gear is stored in it. I need to get another 1 0r 2 , 1 for my other fish house and one for my factory tires and wheels.

For installation it would be easiest with 2 people. It takes about a half hour to install and all hardware was included.
