Angler's Edge

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how effective the Angler's Edge is? Mesikomer swears by it and I thought about giving it a try. Just wanted to know if anyone out there has one or has heard anything about their effectiveness?

I do have one, but havent put it to the test yet this season (just got it this winter).

I think it will definitely pay some dividends in my fishing. You can track barometer, sun/moon data, weather, etc for your exact gps location.

It also gives you a fish activity level based on all those factors.

I think it could be a definite advantage.

I purchased one of these this spring and so far, I like it. Just having the barometer is a definate advantage in my opinion. The cool thing is the historical baro readings over 24 hours. You can track a rising and falling barometer and also see how it coincides with prime times and moon events. Good stuff whether mehsikomer endorses it or not. grin.gif

38pound...

Dropping pressure usually triggers a bite, faster the drop or a larger drop usually means better fishing. You can usually tell when there is a front coming through and the pressure will drop by watching the weather, large storms forecasted usually mean quick pressure drops. an example would be this week, we have had pretty consistant weather for atleast the past week, starting friday its going to start a cooling trend that looks like it will last a while, so friday may be a good day to be on the water.

What kind of results have you noticed? I'm waiting for mine to arrive in the mail. My problem is that muskie fever draws me to the lake almost everyday and not everyday is good fishing...So I'll end up fishing on days that aren't as productive as others, hence not getting stuff done that I need to....

Most guys are going to fish when they can fish, regardless of the conditions. I think the edge can be helpful when you are spending 5 days on the water. When the conditions are right you can hit your prime spots and be more efficient.

38LB- I agree with CS Guy. Fish when you can and if you have more availability, use some of those tools and see if you notice any patterns. I really can't say whether or not I've noticed any results...I'm gonna keep a journal for the season and make my decision at the end if there are any interesting trends.
